The Amalfi Bulletin – 13 October 2013

Vale Teresa – it is with great sadness that the family of Teresa Aceto announces her passing — “mamma”. We will always miss you.

Advisory – The Commune of Amalfi announces that from the beginning of the school year the access road to the Valley of the Mills will be CLOSED for one hour between 8 am and 9 am and again between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm to allow for the safe transit of students to and from the high school. All vehicles (except motorinos) are prohibited from using the road at these times.

Invitation – The Gran Caffe invites all residents and visitors to Amalfi to an evening of neapolitan songs and spaghetti with zucchini on Sunday 21st October. Drinks will be served and — Special Announcement — singer Eddie Oliva, by special arrangement with the Commune of Amalfi, will entertain.

Editorial – When this village loses one of its oldest and most beloved residents to a motorino collision, it is time for this village to ask: do we need better road rules? Signora Teresa Aceto lost her life to a speeding motorino last Thursday. The Valley of the Mills is no place for speeders, we say! All motorino traffic should be banned from the Valley road! God bless the soul of Signora Aceto and we send condolences to her grieving family. The editors of this Bulletin and the citizens of this village call on the mayor and the comitato to take action.

Religious Announcement – The Cathedral of Amalfi Notice of Service: Funeral for Signora Teresa Aceto will take place on Sunday 21st October. The family invites mourners to join them at the Gran Caffe after the service to celebrate the life of “mamma”.
